Rules of Play

The best way of thinking so you can more easily win the game.

  • Frame your thinking so that your full time job is your health and wellness. Your priority and responsibility is to give yourself and Andrew the happiest Life possible. Everyone else enjoys the overflow from that.

  • That means that instead of fitting this protocol into your busy day, it IS your day. And other important things (like plumbing, having coffee with Janet, dusting the chandeliers etc) are to be “fitted in”, not around.

  • Babysitting Katie and other complex social engagements count as both movement and creativity.

  • This protocol assumes you are managing breakfast, lunch, supplements, medications and water intake. We can work those into this plan as well if you like.

8.30 Call To Action

Conscious Movement for Brain Rehabilitation

Complex movements - the sort you need to think about instead of just robotic ones - help to rehabilitate communication lines between neurons and help to align left and right brain hemispheres.

It frees up energy flow between the lower body and upper body and strengthens the performance of kidney, adrenal and thyroid function which all impact the brain.

Yes, it's about staying healthy, but even more so it's about maintaining and even building the brain.

"Leg Thumping" is a 5 step neurological exercise protocol for stimulating the meridians running from kidneys to hippocampus. The desired end result is a wave of tingling energy up and down the body. That means the energy system relating to the kidneys is moving properly - this affects the memory. Notice tingles, prickles, tickles, sparkles, anything in the skin and muscles. Also opening the sacral energy field and moving blockages in chi/life force stagnated in hips and sacral.

Process:

Cycle through these exercises, do at least 5 minutes of each. Notice: What can I feel in my skin? What can I feel in my body? (Don't worry about if you're noticing the right thing or what's supposed to be happening, just notice what IS happening.)

2. Leg Thumping

3. Double mini-thumps

4. Hip Thumping

11:00 The Thot Plickens

Creativity, Creative Expression and Creation

Creativity is also exercise for the brain, but for a different part of the brain. Engaging with color, sound vibrations and making something out of nothing is a natural part of being alive, so this needs nurturing too.

There are infinite ways of doing this, and you want to set yourself up so you can start something and make it progressively more complicated. Start one project, and carry it on for long enough that you can see development - making a golden thread from one day to the next to the next.

Example Projects

Sing. Here is a playlist especially made for you to get to know the rhythm and lyrics so you can sing along. We'll keep adding to it and you can keep up with it. Meet Sara once a fortnight for singing lessons and decide to develop your voice.

Do some rosemaling on wooden boards / furniture / the pergola and let the designs evolve. Donate or sell the creations to make room for new ones. Here is a video to start you off.

Write the stories. A paragraph here and there, handwritten in your journal, just as it comes to you. Start with the Scottish Wilsons.

15:00 Maintain the Engines

Routine about-pottering, polishing and tidying.

These productive activities are great for the afternoon because they are largely automatic, and they still contribute to that wonderful feeling of a good day's work. These are the jobs you have always done for us all, bringing more light and magic into our lives even when we haven't noticed or appreciated it, things like weeding the garden, dusting the skirting boards and shining the prisms.

Do your best to save these jobs for the afternoon, so your best brain energy goes to the creative activities in the morning, and then this afternoon phase can be full   restorative, meditative routine jobs.

17:00 Dinner

A time for communion, bonding and remembering.

What an incredible blessing that you have Andrew as your rock and the captain of the ship. His heart is so full and kind, and his love language is Dinner. The man sits and reflects while he chops the food. He ponders the world and the people he loves, and in his way he is praying the whole time. The food is the result of his meditative hours. It's a wonderful opportunity to share something very special.

If this time could be shared earlier while you are most present and thriving, then a bigger portion of your souls will meet across the table, and you'll remember more together.

The main foods to include/avoid.

Add a moment of Grace before eating, even the slightest blessing or thanks is enough.

18:00 Evening Reflection

A recording of the day gone by

The summing up of a day signals to the brain and body that the day is over and nothing more needs to be doneReviewing the accomplishments of the day together and writing these down will keep a record of the impact you have had and will build your self-confidence and worth. It will keep your focus on what you HAVE done and make your progress more obvious to you. You'll also be creating a chronicle of your moments, so they can linger longer!

This is another opportunity for shared reflection - to review the happenings and accomplishments of the day from two different perspectives. To synthesize the experience - "you had a day and I had a day, and we were together."

22:00 Winning the Game

Evening ritual and the end of the game of Jane's Brains.

Lay your bedside table to remind you of your evening ritual. Rituals help prepare your body for a state of being. We have already tracked that diffusing lavender, cedarwood and frankincense in your bedroom helps you sleep more peacefully.

You can listen to the meditation below if you like. I made it for you!

This is a simple evening ritual you can do. Change any part of it that you like - you are simply thanking God for the day.
